Having toured since 2007, The Floyd Effect has become rightly renowned for the remarkable accuracy with which it performs the iconic music of Pink Floyd. All of the band’s members are top quality musicians with pedigrees that stretch across all manner of musical genres, and they faithfully recreate the music and intensity of a Pink Floyd concert without recourse to backing tracks, racks of computers, or other technological wizardry. Every note that you hear is played and sung by the band, making each concert a genuine live experience, which is also powerful, immersive and emotional. Furthermore, the music is supported by a dramatic light show that incorporates the iconic circular screen, two sets of projections, smoke and lasers.
Performing in small to medium-sized theatres across the country, The Floyd Effect’s concerts are far more intimate than stadium events, with genuine interaction between the band and its audience. But when the opportunity arises, The Floyd Effect can also step out onto the biggest stages and, having headlined the world’s largest tribute festival last year, the band has shown that it’s as comfortable interacting with audiences of thousands as it is in the more comfortable surroundings of the theatre circuit.
Performing their “Dark Side and Beyond” tour, The Floyd Effect take you on a musical journey from the Dark Side of the Moon, through Wish You Were Here and Animals to The Wall, A Momentary Lapse of Reason, and all the way to the Division Bell.
Unless you were there the first time round, the music of Pink Floyd was never as real as this.
