Freddie & Friends New Orleans Jazz Band

We are a JAZZ BAND based near CAMBRIDGE who provide a duo, trio or up to a full six piece traditional band. We play NEW ORLEANS or DIXIELAND style jazz for your special occasion.

We specialise in Dixieland style jazz and traditional New Orleans Jazz featuring a selection of trumpet, cornet lead, clarinet, saxophone or trombone in the front line, backed by a string bass, tenor banjo and rhythm section. Freddie and Friends are laced with professional musicians with many years of experience between them. The band is now into its 15th year and has gone from strength to strength with great enthusiasm on every event. Our music is not excessively loud, yet retains a level stature offering high class, fun, entertainment.

Our repertoire covers music from New Orleans and Chicago of the 1920s' 1930s' and 1940s' from artists such as Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Kid Ory & Bix Beiderbecke, also strongly influenced by “The Ken Colyer Jazzmen” & “The Chris Barber Jazz Band” of the nineteen fifties and early sixties.
