The Derby Midshipmen Band were formed in 1935 and are one of the most successful and professional marching bands in the UK.

The Middies as they are also known, since 1990 the band has entered over 100 competitions. They have never been out of the top 3 places and have achieved over 83% of these in 1st Place.

The band currently has approximately 35 performing members and travels all over the UK performing in parades and main arena events. The uniform is based on the style of the French Naval dress of the 1800’s period. The band is extremely charitable and raises money for both local and national charities.
Our requirements: The band will arrive by coach and will require a safe area to park the vehicle. If the weather is inclement or has been prior to the event, this will need to be a hard standing area. For arena shows - the band requires a roped off arena of approximately 65 x 45 yards.
