Created in June 2007, Dark Star was a welcome addition to the bar and restaurant scene in Scotland. Our company was formed to buy the trading assets of the Budda Group and we immediately set about investing heavily into the existing estate.

Whilst the company is young, the characters behind it bring a wealth of experience to the business having worked in various operational positions throughout the industry for great number of years. All these departments are run by people with their backgrounds rooted firmly in operations. Because of this, we understand the customer.

Not content with the redevelopment of the initial venues, we have moved quickly down the acquisition trail adding units in Ayr, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline and Aberdeen. In keeping with the original estate, each venue is individual and unique in terms of its décor, style and food and drink offer. All being carefully tailored to meet the needs of the local community.
